Thunderhead: Book Review

I don’t know what else to even say. I am dead. D.E.A.D. DEAD.

Thunderhead is the INCREDIBLE sequel to Scythe, the story of a future where humans are immortal and Scythe’s are tasked with gleaning people to combat the growing population. The Thunderhead is the AI system that humans created hundreds of years earlier and it controls and takes care of EVERYTHING. It is an advanced learning system that watches and listens to everything and everyone and intervenes when necessary except for with Scythes because there is a separation of State and the Scythedom. Most people take comfort in the Thunderhead always being there for support. The Thunderhead is the main focus of the end of chapter breaks where we get hear its thoughts on humanity.

The story of Citra and Rowan continues from Scythe as they battle the ever present changes in the Scythedom that are unwelcome to them and the Thunderhead. We see Scythes around the world begin to take different sides within their own Scythe groups.

There are so many moments in this book of true sincerity, raw emotion. Every step of the way through this book had me on the verge of tears and a breakdown. So many things changed, so many things HAPPENED. I don’t want to say too much so I don’t spoil it for those of you that haven’t read it. SO PLEASE GO READ IT. I want to talk to all of you about this amazing story and how it only gets better!

And don’t even get me started on that ending! I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU NEAL. Crying real tears right now. I am just going to sit here and impatiently wait for book 3 to come out FOREVER FROM NOW.
