I cannot believe A Court of Frost and Starlight was FINALLY released yesterday! And yes I am already writing this review because I finished it last night!
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
I will warn you, this review will probably contain spoilers. So if you want no part of it being ruined for you I suggest you go read the book quickly and then come back to see what I thought!
I give ACOFAS 5 stars! ACOFAS is a novella set in the Faerie world of Prythian after the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin. The point of ACOFAS is to tie up some loose ends, put final touches on Feyre and Rhysand’s storyline, and give us a glimpse into the next series in this world that will revolve around other characters from the original three books.
At only 229 pages this novella is not a story that contains a ton of plot points because it is solely supposed to be a bridge to the next series. That was fine for me, but I have read other reviews that said they didn’t like it as much as the original three books because it is not as detailed and not plot driven. Well, it’s not supposed to be. Not with Feyre and Rhys at least.
That being said, I will say I was slightly disappointed that the majority of this book revolved around Feyre and Rhys. Don’t get me wrong, I’m as much a fangirl for Rhys as the next girl, but, I went into this story expecting to get more of an insight into characters like Cassian & Nesta, Azriel & Elain, maybe even Mor. Especially considering this book is supposed to set up the next book!
Also if you want to know what lies ahead for the next book, keep reading, if not turn away now because I am about to spoil it BECAUSE I CANNOT CONTAIN MYSELF. The next book in the series hopefully coming out next year is going to be about my babies CASSIAN AND NESTA AND I HAVE NEVER WANTED ANYTHING MORE.
In the end, this book and story was by no means perfect but it was pretty well done. Especially that wall scene! Phew it’s getting hot in here! The cover is absolutely gorgeous and I am ecstatic to see where the next story will take us because this is by far my favorite series ever (maybe even more than Harry Potter which is saying a lot!)
