down the TBR hole

Down the TBR hole #2!

Web

Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost In A Story (along with the pretty graphic!) The idea is to help slim down your Goodreads TBR, because we all know how large and endless that list becomes!

How it works:

→ Go to your Goodreads to be read shelf
→ Order on ascending date added
→ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
→ Read the synopses of the books
→ Decide: keep it or should it go?

My 5 books:

  1. We Were Liars : by e. Lockhart
    • The description on Goodreads literally says “if anyone asks you how it ends, LIE.” And I just cannot with that. I also looked through quite a few reviews and a lot of people gave it one or two stars and basically said don’t bother because even though it’s a good story, the style of writing is incredibly irritating.
      • Judgement: GO
  2. Matched : by Ally Condie
    • This is another one that the description does not interest me at all. Also according to a lot of reviews this book kind of sucked, so there’s that. I honestly think I’m too old for this book now that I’m 27 and it was published when I was 19. Maybe if I had read it then..
      • Judgement: GO
  3. If I Stay : by Gayle Forman
    • I have heard so many wonderful things about If I Stay and I kind of still want to still the movie so I not sure I’m quite ready to let this one go just yet.
      • Judgement: Keep!
  4. Legend : by Marie Lu
    • Well last week I let go the other two books in this series so at this point there’s no turning back and I have to let this one go. I think this is just another one that came out so long ago and I probably would have enjoyed earlier in my life, but not right now.
      • Judgement: GO
  5. Graceling : by Kristin Cashore
    • The last book on my list tonight is another example of a book I added at a much earlier time in my life that I would have enjoyed then. Graceling was published in 2008 and I can’t even comprehend the fact that I was only a Junior in High School that year. I have no interest in reading a book that reminds me of High School unfortunately.
      • Judgement: GO

This was another round that was incredibly easy for me and that makes me almost sad because I want to be challenged in whether I want to keep these books on my TBR! These really old books though just seem too young for me now and I know I won’t end up enjoying them so why waste my time. For my final tally I am only keeping If I Stay! While letting go of We Were Liars, Matched, Legend, and Graceling.

Do you agree with my decisions? Why or why not?

I’m going to remove them from my Goodreads TBR right now! I hope you enjoyed this fun little post, I can’t wait to do it again!
