November Wrap Up

I’m a little late posting my November Wrap Up, since it’s December 2nd and all, BUT I was incredibly busy on the last day of November and I didn’t have time to get this post together. Better late than never though!

In November I managed to read FIVE books. Much slower than October was for me but with how busy I have been with work, appointments, and spending time with family I just didn’t have as much time as usual to sit down and read. I think December I’ll be able to get a lot more reading in because I have 12 days off in a row around Christmas which will give me ample time to read my heart out! I would have had six books read in November but I have put Renegades on hold for now. I got about 60% done and I’m just not feeling it anymore. I don’t want to DNF because I do like the story, I just don’t think it’s the story I need right now, so I will continue at a later time.

Here are the five books I read in November:

The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy : turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1

Quick thoughts: Lady’s Guide was just as fun as its predecessor The Gentleman’s Guide. I love how empowered I felt after reading it because Felicity is a go getter – no nonsense kind of girl in a time when it was difficult for women to do anything in a field dominated by men. This was a fun adventure across Europe that involved, you guessed it, lots of petticoats and pirates! You can read my full review here.

Format read: Hardcover physical book

Ash Princess: turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1

Quick thoughts: Ash Princess was such a fun quick read for me! I really enjoyed the world building and the premise of a princess who has had her kingdom stolen from her. It was a brutal tough world and I am excited to read the next book to see where the story goes! You can read my full review here.

Format read: Audiobook – Libby

The Poppy War: turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1

Quick Thoughts: My god, this is one of my favorite reads of the year. This fantasy take on The Poppy Wars is dark, scary, and completely devastating. I loved it. Shamans, magic, war, and a tough female heroine. Definitely one of the best fantasy novels I’ve ever read. You can read my full review here.

Format read: Audiobook – Audible

Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of The Poppy War because I haven’t had a chance to buy it yet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

City of Bones: turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1

Quick Thoughts: Some parts of this were SUPER cheesy, especially some of the dialogue and I felt like there were some flaws in the plot. But, I absolutely loved Jace. He’s so sassy, sarcastic, and I love everything about him. I’m going to keep reading the series literally for him because I could care less about Clary. You can read my full review here.

Format read: Audiobook – Libby

The Raven’s Ballad: turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1turquoise-star-clipart-1

Quick Thoughts: I absolutely love Emma’s books and this one takes the cake! Bran and Aisling are an incredible pair and I love seeing their story unfold. Aisling is so tough and strong and this book made me feel so empowered to be a woman. You can read my full review here.

Format read: ebook (manuscript)
