down the TBR hole

Down the TBR hole #3!

Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost In A Story (along with the pretty graphic!) The idea is to help slim down your Goodreads TBR, because we all know how large and endless that list becomes!

How it works:

→ Go to your Goodreads to be read shelf
→ Order on ascending date added
→ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
→ Read the synopses of the books
→ Decide: keep it or should it go?

My 5 books:

  1. The Kite Runner : by Khaled Hosseini
    • At this point The Kite Runner is a classic, and a very important story. I actually just bought this book and A Thousand Splendid Suns, so I have every intention of actually reading this!
      • Judgement: KEEP
  2. The Book Thief : by Markus Zusak
    • Another book I think of as a classic and an incredibly important story. I was just gifted the anniversary edition at Christmas last year! Another one I plan on reading eventually, maybe when I’m a little older.
      • Judgement: KEEP
  3. Across the Universe : by Beth Revis
    • Okay, I honestly have no recollection of ever adding this to my TBR. I say this because I have never even heard of it! I own other books by Revis but I just don’t know if this one is for me. It has some pretty bad reviews on Goodreads and basically sounds like a teenage drama set in space.
      • Judgement: GO
  4. Front Lines : by Michael Grant
    • I read Grant’s other series, Gone, a couple years ago (I only made it through book 3 but whatever) so I think I added this because I initially enjoyed his writing and story but after a while I lost interest. This also is in no way close to a genre I would enjoy.
      • Judgement: GO
  5. The Year We Fell Apart : by Emily Martin
    • What even is this? This is another one I have no idea what it is nor do I remember ever adding this to my TBR. Also, it’s young adult contemporary AND romance which is just a big NO from me.
      • Judgement: GO

Alright, there’s my weekly purge of my TBR! Another week that was rather easy for me because I am much more genre specific now and know what I will and won’t enjoy. For today’s final tally I am only keeping The Kite Runner and The Book Thief, while getting rid of Across the Universe, Front Lines, and The Year We Fell Apart.
