My 2019 Bookish Goals

Happy New Year everyone! I have this feeling 2019 is going to be an amazing year and even more so for the bookish community! Book sales are up, local book stores are thriving, and there are TONS of incredible books releasing this year!

I wanted to start this year off on a good note by writing down everything I hope to achieve this year. I don’t want to call them resolutions because I am not trying to limit myself on anything and I don’t want to put a stigma on them to where I make myself suffer trying to achieve them. These are just things I want to work towards this year and if it happens then that’s even more amazing!

I am going to break my goals up into different sections depending on what platform they are for!

Bookishly Brittknee (My Blog!)

1 .  Grow my blog’s following to 250 followers!

2 .  Post a review for every book I read in 2019.

3 .  Stick to posting fun tags weekly. ie, Top Ten Tuesday, Can’t Wait Wednesday, Down the TBR Hole, Friday Favorites.

4 . Have a month with over 1,000 views!

Bookstagram

1 .  Grow my bookstagram following to 4,000 followers.

2 .  Continue posting at least 1 to 2 times a day.

3 .  Continue participating in monthly photo challenges.

4 .  Host more giveaways (even if they are small sometimes!)

Goodreads

1 .  Read 75 books! Any platform that works for me at the time counts! (I love listening to Audiobooks while driving or working out, reading ebooks at work, and physical books at home!)

2 .  Write a review for every book I read in 2019.

3 .  Grow my following to 100 followers (I find it hard to gain followers on Goodreads, any tips would be appreciated!)

4 .  Give out 5 star reviews less frequently. Truly only give them to books that absolutely amaze me, instead of throwing them out like confetti.

Twitter

1 .  Grow my following to 250 followers (another platform I find difficult to grow on, tips would be appreciated!)

2 .  Be less anxious about responding to people, retweeting, or talking to authors! My account can only grow if I put myself out there more.

General

1 .  Be braver and more confident when it comes to sending in requests to publishers and authors.

2. Be more confident in my ability to write good reviews!

What are your goals for 2019? Anything similar to mine or anything you think I should add to mine? A lot of them are pretty similar, I am mainly focused on growing my followings across my social media platforms and focusing on writing reviews for all of the books I read this year!

  1. I can never figure out my passwords to post, but  I tried to post this comment:

I find it easier to gain followers on Bookbub.  They sent out reviews to all your followers and that generates more interest. Goodreads sort of does that by posting your reviews to facebook (if you aren’t doing that, set it up so that you might gain a follower or to via FB) and twitter if you have the settings right, but they don’t send an email with all your recent reviews.  I like the bookbub reviews–the tags are helpful and you can like other reviews and people find you that way.   Goodreads doesn’t seem to be quite as active as it once was.   Guess now I’ll have to find out what booksagam is…!  Happy New Year!

    1. Thank you for this insight! I will have to look into that! As for bookstagram it’s Instagram but the community is all about books! The bookstagram community promotes and posts photos of all the beautiful books out there! If you have instagram you can follow me at bookishlybrittknee 🙂 Happy New Year!

    1. It’s so hard sometimes to be vulnerable and put yourself out there like that 🙈 hopefully this will be a learning year for me.

    1. Thank you! I hope to achieve at least a good portion of them but to do that I really have to put myself out there. It is incredibly daunting, especially for someone like me that is SO introverted. But I can only grow by putting myself outside of my comfort zone!
