Down the TBR hole #8!

Web

Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost In A Story (along with the pretty graphic!) The idea is to help slim down your Goodreads TBR, because we all know how large and endless that list becomes!

How it works:

→ Go to your Goodreads to be read shelf
→ Order on ascending date added
→ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
→ Read the synopses of the books
→ Decide: keep it or should it go?

My 5 books:

  1. The Light Between Oceans : by M.L. Stedman
    • Not going to lie, I remember adding this to my TBR because I saw the preview for the movie with Michael Fassbender (helllloooo). But other than that I have almost no interest in this story, mainly because it’s historical fiction. I do like historical fiction but only when there is a fantasy element to it as well.
      • Judgement: GO
  2. The Edge of Everything : by Jeff Giles
    • AHH I don’t know what to do with this book! It has some fairly negative reviews and a lot of DNF but it also sounds good?? And some people said it’s even a little creepy?? Like, I want to say I’m in but I just don’t know with how many people couldn’t even finish it.
      • Judgement: KEEP (for now!)
  3. As Old As Time : by Liz Braswell
    • Gosh another one that I just don’t know what to do with. I actually own the first book in this series of Disney retellings (this one being book 3) but I never read it. Honestly I’m kind of thinking about just giving up on this series, reading reviews doesn’t have me looking forward to this book. There’s a LOT of 2 or 1 star reviews and I usually go with the masses so..
      • Judgement: GO
  4. Spindle Fire : by Lexa Hillyer
    • Another retelling, this one being about Sleeping Beauty. I actually own this book and the second book in this series. But they’ve also been sitting on my shelf for 2 and 1 year year, respectively. Yeah I don’t know, this is another one with low ratings and I just don’t want to spend my time reading a book I will negatively review. I’m trying to be selective in my reads this year.
      • Judgement: GO
  5. Behind Her Eyes : by Sarah Pinborough
    • Nope Nope Nope. I can’t do thrillers anymore. They give me way too much anxiety about things that *could* happen in real life. That’s why I stick to fantasy.
      • Judgement: GO

Alright that’s it for this weeks Down the TBR hole! I’m not surprised I’m only keeping one. These books were added to my TBR so long ago and my reading preferences have changed so much that these books would just never work for me now. See you next week for post #9!
