It’s time for Friday Favorites hosted by the lovely Kibby over at Something of the Book! Head to her page for the rules and prompts! This will be a weekly meme hosted every Friday where you can show off your favorites (or least favorites) based on her weekly prompts.
This weeks prompt is favorite epic journeys!
Here is my list of my favorite epic journeys in books! These are in no particular order other than when I saw them on my bookcase!
1 . The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue : by Mackenzi Lee
This was such a fun and cute adventure! This story was literally a journey across Europe and it was so funny but also heartwarming!
2 . Throne of Glass (series) : by Sarah J Maas
Being a huge Throne of Glass fan I of course had to include this series on this list of epic journeys because this one takes the cake for me! I loved this series so much and enjoyed seeing so much of Erilea! Especially when we got to see the southern continent in Tower of Dawn!
3 . The Lord of the Rings : by J.R.R. Tolkien
Okay, not going to lie. I did not finish this series. I could barely finish The Two Towers so I never went back and read The Return of the King. But I absolutely loved the movies so I am including this series for that aspect!
4 . Strange the Dreamer : by Laini Taylor
How could I not include my best read of 2018 on this list?? With Lazlo traveling great lengths to get to the city of Weep this is definitely an adventure that will stick with me for a long time.
5 . Nevernight : by Jay Kristoff
It’s been a minute since I’ve read this but I remember Mia having a hell of a time fighting her way to find the Red Church. This was seriously such an amazing story. Go read it.
6 . An Ember in the Ashes (series) : by Sabaa Tahir
Another one that I read a long time ago but I remember from the first (super dark and gripping) chapter that Laia was on the run. This was a crazy story of love and loss. I still need to read A Reaper at the Gates, I’m just not ready to have my heart broken yet!
Alright guys, there is my (somewhat short) list of epic journey books I loved! Aside from the obvious Lord of the Rings I tried to think of books that aren’t so predicatable? I don’t know if I succeeded, but hey I had fun writing this and revisiting old favorites! See you next Friday for the next Friday Favorites!
