Down the TBR hole #9!

Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost In A Story (along with the pretty graphic!) The idea is to help slim down your Goodreads TBR, because we all know how large and endless that list becomes!

How it works:

→ Go to your Goodreads to be read shelf
→ Order on ascending date added
→ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
→ Read the synopses of the books
→ Decide: keep it or should it go?

My 5 books:

First can I just say how goofy Happily Ever After looks in this graphic because it’s the only one that seems light and fluffy while the other 4 are dark and brooding.

  1. Dead Letters : by Caite Dolan-leach
    • This is dubbed as a mystery thriller about a twin sister that runs away and leaves behind clues for her sister to figure out, and I have absolutely no interest in this. By now, if you have been following my down the TBR hole posts then you know I cannot read thrillers. Anxiety to the max man.
      • Judgement: GO
  2. Three Dark Crowns : by Kendare Blake
    • I know a lot of reviewers either left this at DNF or rated it fairly average but it’s still intriguing enough to me that I want to keep it and hope to read it someday! This one is about a set of triplet Queens that must fight for the crown to the death, and also magic so yeah I’m in.
      • Judgement: KEEP
  3. One Dark Throne : by Kendare Blake
    • The sequel to #2 this one has much better ratings on Goodreads and sounds even better than the first!
      • Judgement: KEEP
  4. Happily Ever After : by Kelly Oram
    • This is the sequel to Cinder & Ella which is (obviously) a Cinderella retelling. I’m actually surprised there is a sequel because I thought the first one ended well?? Maybe that’s just me. I don’t know about this one though because my reading preferences have changed so much I’m not sure I would enjoy this now.
      • Judgement: GO
  5. Written in the Stars : by Aisha Saeed
    • Ahh a young adult contemporary romance, aaaaand I’m immediately out. This is also another one I have no memory of adding to my TBR, the cover doesn’t even look familiar. Also the plot sounds incredibly sad and I don’t need more emotions in my life. This one is all about being thrown into a marriage you don’t want to be a part of and the struggle with arranged marriages.
      • Judgement: GO

Well that’s a wrap on my 9th down the TBR hole! I can’t believe next week is my tenth week of cutting down my TBR, even though I think I have more now than I started with because I’ve added so many! It’s no surprise to me the only two I’m keeping are the fantasy novels because that’s about 97% of what I read.

    1. You should! I really enjoy doing this post every week now, even though my TBR is only getting bigger with new books coming out 😂 but it helps get rid of books I know I will never end up reading!
