down the TBR hole

Down the TBR hole #10!

Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost In A Story (along with the pretty graphic!) The idea is to help slim down your Goodreads TBR, because we all know how large and endless that list becomes!

How it works:

→ Go to your Goodreads to be read shelf
→ Order on ascending date added
→ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
→ Read the synopses of the books
→ Decide: keep it or should it go?

My 5 books:Photo_2019-01-22_07-44-20_PM.png

  1. Unwind : by Neal Shusterman
    • So I actually really like Neal Shusterman’s books, like when I say I relaly like I mean I LOVED his Arc of a Scythe series (still waiting for book three though). But, I am not sure this one is for me because it looks SPOOKY. This one is all about a Civil War that took place over reproductive rights and how from conception to age thirteen children can not be harmed but between 13 and 18 as parents you can “unwind” your children and have their organs placed in different donors. like, W.T.F.
      • Judgement: GO
  2. Lockdown : by Alexander Gordon Smith
    • Um, so, this one is a Horror novel about a Penitentiary? That’s buried a mile below the Earth’s surface? As I keep reading the synopsis, which is now talking about inhuman creatures, I am becoming more and more convinced that this book will be leaving my TBR because I am SUCH a scaredy cat.
      • Judgement: GO
  3. Delirium : by Lauren Oliver
    • I read Lauren’s other book, Before I Fall, 5 years ago and I really enjoyed it. Although I was a lot younger then and my taste in books has changed A LOT. I don’t know if this type of book is for me anymore, they’re almost too young for me? Like, too cheesy Young Adult.
      • Judgement: GO
  4. Thirteen Reasons Why : by Jay Asher
    • So I know the only reason I added this to my TBR was because I enjoyed the first season of the show on Netflix. I did not watch the second season though and don’t plan on it. I have heard so much about it and I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding it and I want no part of it. I have no intention of reading this book.
      • Judgement: GO
  5. I’ll Give You the Sun : by Jandy Nelson
    • By now you all know how much I am against Young Adult Contemporary and especially when it is a romance story. This is literally this book. I am probably in the super minority here because all the reviews I see on Goodreads are 4 or 5 stars and extremely positive but I just know I won’t enjoy it.
      • Judgement: GO

Alright well this week’s Down the TBR hole was fairly easy because I am getting rid of all 5 books! It took longer for me to write this post than it did for me to just look at the covers and know I wasn’t going to keep any of them, but I wanted you all to know why I am getting rid of them! Just remember, just because they are not for me that doesn’t mean you might not love it!

  1. I was just looking at my Goodreads TBR and getting rid of books on it the other day! This looks like loads of fun to be honest. I read Delirium a few years ago and I didn’t really like it so I don’t blame you for taking it off your list.

    1. This is one of my favorite posts to put up every week! It’s so much fun trying to figure out whether it’s worth it to keep a book or not! I feel like I would have liked Delirium had I read it when it came out, but it’s just been so long now and my taste in books has drastically changed.
