down the TBR hole

Down the TBR hole #17!

Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost In A Story (along with the pretty graphic!) The idea is to help slim down your Goodreads TBR, because we all know how large and endless that list becomes!

How it works:

→ Go to your Goodreads to be read shelf
→ Order on ascending date added
→ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
→ Read the synopses of the books
→ Decide: keep it or should it go?

My 5 books:

  1. Stalking Jack the Ripper : by Kerri Maniscalco
    • I really really want to read this series! It sounds so intriguing to me and from what I’ve heard the characters are pretty amazing!
      • Judgement: KEEP
  2. Hunting Prince Dracula : by Kerri Maniscalco
    • Same, this is the sequel to Stalking Jack the Ripper!
      • Judgement: KEEP
  3. Rage : by Cora Carmack
    • I own the first book and I have also heard wonderful things about it so I think I am going to keep it (I also own it, just haven’t gotten to it yet!). Also weirdly, I love these covers! I generally don’t like covers with people on them but eh, I think these are really well done!
      • Judgement: KEEP
  4. Wild Beauty : Anna-Marie McLemore
    • I actually tried to read this. I really did. I received Wild Beauty in a past Owlcrate and it was just so pretty and I really wanted to love it but like, I didn’t get the story? It was really confusing to me and I wasn’t invested at all. I ended up DNF.
      • Judgement: GO
  5. Catwoman Soulstealer: by Sarah J Maas
    • Nope Nope Nope, I am DONE with the DC Icons series. They burned me too good with Batman Nightwalker and I want nothing to do with this series anymore, I don’t care who wrote them. And all the drama with Matt de la Pena? Yeah definitely out.
      • Judgement: GO

Woo okay I got really worked up about Catwoman. Those DC Icon books though ugh 😒 I am happy with how this week turned out, I kept all except the one I ended up DNF and one that I will never read because the previous book is my lowest rating ever and I just can’t put myself through that again.

  1. I have been carrying the copy of Catwoman with me for such a long time. It has traveled with me from India to London, it’s been like 6 months. I am emotionally attached to that book for some reason even though I don’t feel like reading it any more😉

    1. Maybe because it’s by Sarah J Maas? That’s literally the reason I bought it haha, but even then I don’t think I’m going to read it which is why I decided to take it off my TBR 🤷🏽‍♀️ now I need to decide if I should get rid of the book!

  2. I am still hoping that someday I will get in a mood and at least give it a try… Down the TBR hole is such a fantastic idea. I am going to start doing it asap!

  3. This is a great idea! My GoodReads TBR list is SUPER long and it definitely needs some weeding! I like the looks of the Kerri Maniscalco books – I might have to add them to my own TBR (haha, right after I said I needed to make mine shorter!)

    1. YAAAAAS you should absolutely do this post! I do it every week! What’s funny is I’ve been doing this for 17 weeks and taken SO many books off my TBR, but I’ve added so many more to it I now have more on my TBR than I started with 😬 I love the covers of Kerri’s books! I hope to read them all before Capturing the Devil releases!

  4. I’m still not sure if I should pick up the Stalking Jack the Ripper series, but it sounds like so much fun!

Also, because I hate typos and I like when people point them out to me, there’s one in “I recieved Wild Beauty.” I hope you don’t mind 🙈
