Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday!

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.

Today’s prompt is for my top ten audiobooks! (this week is an audio freebie! and as I listen to a TON of audiobooks I thought I would share with you some of my favorites!)

In no particular order:

The Harry Potter series : Narrated by Jim Dale

My forever love, Harry Potter. Not only are the books themselves incredible but the audiobooks are just as well done. Jim Dale does a fantastic job bringing this story to life, and I love being able to jump right into the story when I don’t have any other audiobooks available.

The Illuminae Files series : Narrated by a full cast

It’s hard to top Harry Potter, because Harry Potter is life. BUT, The Illuminae Files audiobook really gives HP a run for it’s money. Narrated by a full cast and full of a fantastic and intense story, this is a series I have to recommend to everyone.

The Throne of Glass series : Narrated by Elizabeth Evans

Elizabeth does a fantastic job narrating these books. These are so many heartbreaking scenes throughout this series and I swear I can her the emotion in her voice, which just makes me even more emotional.

The Cruel Prince series : Narrated by Caitlin Kelly

I LOVE these audiobooks! I had The Wicked King audiobook pre-ordered and I finished it THAT. DAY. These go quickly and Caitlin does a fantastic job drawing you into the story.

Sadie : Narrated by a full cast

This book was quick but full of heartbreak and so many deep emotions. I love that this one is narrated by a full cast, it really brought the story to life as this one is told from Sadie’s point of view and then back to a radio show cataloging what happened to her.

A Series of Unfortunate Events : Narrated by Tim Curry and Daniel Handler

UGH okay even though the last book in this series wronged me like no other, I still think these were fantastic audiobooks! They are relatively quick being between 3 and 6 hours long, but there are 13 books so it does take a minute to get through them all. But bonus, half the books are narrated by the author himself, Daniel Handler, and the other half are narrated by Tim Curry and I’ve never needed something more in my life than to listen to that man read a book for 6 hours.

Strange the Dreamer series : Narrated by Steve West

How could I not include the audiobooks for my favorite books? I don’t think I need to say anything else, you guys know how highly I feel about these books.

Ash Princess series : Narrated by Saskia Maarleveld

I actually listened to this audiobook before I even bought the final copy! Now I own three different editions of each book 😬 these books are SO good and the audiobook really drew me in!

The Poppy War : Narrated by Emily Woo Zeller

This book is so thicc I never thought I would be able to get through it without the audiobook. The world is fairly dense as well so I think the audiobook really helped me visualize and understand what was happening. One of my favorite reads of 2018!

Furyborn : Narrated by Fiona Hardingham

THIS BOOK OH MY GOD I love it so much 😭 this is another fantasy that is fairly dense but the audiobook is very easy to follow and it was narrated so incredibly well. I can’t wait for the audiobook of Kingsbane!

  1. I haven’t listened to any of these audiobooks except for Heir of Fire and surely, Elizabeth Evans does a fantastic job in narrating that book. Awesome list!!

  2. You mentioned a whole bunch of audiobooks I haven’t seen mentioned on other lists before! Everyone tells me how good Harry Potter and Illuminae are, but I did not know that A Series of Unfortunate Events was so good! Or that it was narrated (even just in part) by the author himself!
