Friday Favorites

Friday Favorites

It’s time for Friday Favorites hosted by the lovely Kibby over at Something of the Book! Head to her page for the rules and prompts! This is a weekly meme hosted every Friday where you can show off your favorites (or least favorites) based on her weekly prompts.

This weeks prompt is favorite Plot Twists!

You have been warned, there will be spoilers.

In no particular order:

Wicked Saints

Okay I know this book hasn’t released yet so I’m not going to spoil anyone on it (because hello that’s hella rude) but I was lucky enough to get an ARC and am on the blog tour next week (YAY!) so I was able to read this book early. And let me just say, there is a twist that I absolutely did not see coming but it is one that I 1000% support.

The Cruel Prince / The Wicked King

Going in to these books I had never read anything by Holly Black so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect but HOT DAMN the ending of The Cruel Prince had me literally gasping because I was SHOOK that Oak was an heir to the throne and Jude took charge and had Oak crown Cardan and GASP I am still not over it. There was also a twist at the end of The Wicked King, and honestly I kept hoping there would be another twist like there was in The Cruel Prince and I was not disappointed when Cardan literally banished Jude to the human realm.

Okay so this one wasn’t a CRAZY shocker but I still thought the ending had a good twist to it and I like where the story is headed for book two. At the end of Skyward we find out that the reason there has been this incredibly long war with the aLiEnS (I listened to the audiobook and can’t remember what they called them) is because Spensa’s planet is actually a Prisoner Containment and they are to be watched and not allowed to ever leave the planet for fear they will destroy the galaxy. I never expected this so it was a lot of fun to see it unfold.

Crown of Midnight

This will probably be a popular one but I don’t care because it’s a GOOD one. I haven’t read Crown of Midnight since October last year (literally 6 months but it feels like 6 years) but this is the one that truly got me hooked on the Throne of Glass series. In Crown of Midnight we find Nehemia brutally murdered only MINUTES before Celaena gets to her which is shocking in and of itself. But Celaena’s reaction and subsequent blaming/attacking of Chaol also ruined their relationship forever AND AND AND also revealed Dorian’s magic he had been so carefully suppressing.

Okay this one I don’t remember the particulars because I haven’t read it in FOREVER (definitely need to do a reread before Darkdawn releases this fall) but I remember multiple times my jaw was left hanging on the floor. Especially the ending with a certain DON TRIC, HOLY GODS.

Okay keeping this one kind of short because I’m lame and never have enough time to schedule my blog posts ahead of time so here I am on a Friday night writing this one and I have like 15 other things I need to do tonight ๐Ÿ˜œ What plot twists blew your mind?

      1. If you do I hope you enjoy it more. I do that sometimes when I’m not feeling a book I’ll put it down and come back to it like 6 months later lol. Sometimes I’m just not in the right frame of mind for it!
