down the TBR hole

Down the TBR hole #25!

Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost In A Story (along with the pretty graphic!) The idea is to help slim down your Goodreads TBR, because we all know how large and endless that list becomes!

How it works:

→ Go to your Goodreads to be read shelf
→ Order on ascending date added
→ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
→ Read the synopses of the books
→ Decide: keep it or should it go?

My 5 books:

  1. And I Darken : by Kiersten White
    • I actually just read The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein earlier this year by Kiersten and I absolutely loved it. Her writing style is phenomenal and it made me want to pick up her other books!
      • Judgement: KEEP
  2. Son of a Trickster : by Eden Robinson
    • I weirdly thought this was a retelling of Loki? Or like a retelling of his children? But I’m not so sure anymore?? Anyone know? Anyways the cover is gorgeous so it’s staying on my list.
      • Judgement: KEEP
  3. Ready Player One : by Ernest Cline
    • I’ve heard the book is amazing so this one will definitely be staying. I also love a good Sci-Fi story so I think this one will be good.
      • Judgement: KEEP
  4. Deep Blue : by Jennifer Donnelly
    • This just has the makings of that typical angsty teenage story that doesn’t have as much depth to it as I want. Also I really dislike the covers in this series don’t @ me 🤷‍♀️
      • Judgement: GO
  5. Rogue Wave : by Jennifer Donnelly
    • See #4
      • Judgement: GO

What do you think of my choices? Any you’ve read and agree or disagree with?

      1. The story itself! The narrator did a great job.
I found the story to be horrendously slow, and from what I gathered after some research, the history, language, names, etc – are not accurate enough for historical fiction.

The book has gotten some highly positive feedback, though, so what do I know? lol

      2. It centers around Vlad the Impaler and takes place in Valakia (Romania) in the mid-1400-century (thank you, google), and I can’t remember the exact details, but the children of Vlad, who are the main characters, are shipped off to the Sultan of wherever. That’s a short summary without spoilers, haha.

I hope you enjoy it! 🙂
