Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday!

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.

Today’s prompt is for auto buy authors!

In no particular order:

Leigh Bardugo

Starting this list off with Queen Bardugo herself. I own so many books and different editions of the same book from Bardugo and I love each and every one. I still haven’t read King of Scars because I’m nervous of how I’ll respond to it. But I simply cannot wait to read Ninth House!

Holly Black

I first discovered Black with The Cruel Prince and now I’m hooked and want to own every book by her. Holly is an absolutely terrific writer and her Fae stories will stick with me forever.

Cassandra Clare

Oddly enough I’ve only read 4 and 1/2 (don’t ask haha) books by Clare but I own literally all of her books. Some I even own multiple editions of. I know, I don’t get it either. It’s like I have a need to own all these Shadowhunter books but I don’t want to actually read them lololol.

Sarah J Maas

How could I not include Maas in this list? Her books are the reason I started reading YA Fantasy. When I first got back into reading a couple years ago the first book I picked up was A Court of Thorns and Roses and it’s bee history ever since. It’s sequel ACOMAF is still one of my favorite books of all time.

Jay Kristoff

THE KING. One of my most owned and most beloved authors. I need Jay to continue writing masterpieces for as long as he lives because I can never get enough of his stories.

Margaret Rogerson

A new favorite! Her writing style is stunning and magical and everything I want in an author. Her books are enchanting and I love the stories she tells, I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!

Laini Taylor

AHHHH MY FAVORITE EVER! I don’t know if I even need to say more? If you know me at all then you know my love for Laini has no bounds.

J.K. Rowling

Had to include the creator of Harry Potter of course! This woman inspired me to become such an avid reader when I was a kid!

Patrick Rothfuss

Much like Cassandra Clare I haven’t actually read any of Patrick’s books but I seem to own a million of them and multiple editions even. I even own his graphic novels.. haha but still haven’t read any of his actual books. Some day, some day.

Claire Legrand

Another new favorite! I read Furyborn and Kingsbane earlier this year and loved them both immensely! Why yes I do own 4 different editions of Furyborn and I have no shame.

    1. There are some series where I own books three and four but don’t own one or two and haven’t read them 😂 it’s a problem hah. I have heard so many amazing things about Name of the Wind and I know I’m going to love it when I do eventually read it, which is why I went ahead and bought multiple editions lol

  1. I feel ashamed that there are so many authors on this list that I haven’t read. Granted, most of them are on my TBR but still!

I’ll be honest, while I adore HP Rowling is still a tricky one for me. I’m not always a fan of how she behaves as an author, the newer HP companion books haven’t blown me away and I’ve DNFd any Galbraith books I’ve attempted.

    1. I have literally only read the Harry Potter books from her. I will admit I read The Cursed Child and absolutely HATE it, such a money grab. I still respect her for what she did when she was writing HP though, not so much with what she’s got going on now.
